———–

We have been invited to Go Carting with 2nd Eltham Venturers on Tues 18th September … at South Morang. So we will be meeting Monday and Tuesday that week – attend the one(s) you can. Let us know if you are attending ASAP so that we can finalize numbers for the booking.

This will take place at the South Morang Go Karting Centre where we went back in June. Address: 465 McDonalds Rd, South Morang, VIC, 3752

Based on the timing from our last session we will need to be at the track by 7:00PM as the paper work takes some time. If some Venturers arrive at 7:00 pm and then we arrive in dribs and drabs over the next 30 minutes would be ideal. If you have your Kart license from the last time – bring it along!

The cost is $30.00 / participant

We will be all in the junior karts, so there is no age limit.

The leaders can sign for participants under the age of 18.

A Y5 – Special Activities Form [PDF] is required for this Activity. Please print it out, fill it in and get your parent / guardian to sign it.

Venturer Award Scheme

Award Scheme
After completing the Venturing Skills Award the Venturer Scout may progress through the three main components of the Award Scheme – the Venturer Award, the Endeavour Award and the Queen’s Scout Award. Special badges can also be earned.

When a Venturer Scout is invested into the Unit they receive a Venturer Scout Record Book. He or she should look through the Record Book marking the things that are appealing. Then the task is to plot a path towards completing the requirements of the Venturer Scout Award Scheme. A “pathway planning meeting” with the Venturer Scout Leader is recommended at say four weeks after investiture.

With an identified plan, the Venturer Scout can participate effectively in Unit program discussions. He or she can articulate ideas for incorporation in the general program or as small ad hoc group activities that others can join in with.
