REFLECTING ON 2012
We’ll start off by looking back at 2012 and see what worked, what didn’t work and what changes may be required in the program. We can use the Venturer Scout Term Program Review [PDF] for the basis of this discussion.
* Was the program balanced?
* Can we go one step better for 2013?
PLANNING FOR 2013
For this longer term planning it would be good for the Unit to have a think about the Venturer Award Scheme. Have a look through your Record Book marking down the things that are appealing and come along with at least one idea for the program for each of the four Queen’s Scout Award themes;
- Community Involvement
- Personal Growth
Also have a look through the following information to help get a feeling for what activities can fit into the 2013 calendar;
If you haven’t already, grab a copy of the Venturer Award Planning Sheet [PDF] to have a think through what you wish to achieve in the next 12 months. (This planning sheet and the other related documents are always available via our notice board page)
Have a think about any Expeditions that you want to start planning for – don’t be afraid to think BIG; Hiking the Kokoda Trail, back country skiing in New Zealand, caving in the Blue Mountains, Rafting the Murray River, 4WDing the Flinder’s Ranges, … this will help put together a set of activities and preparation that will feedback into the programming process.
