Access to the hall needs to be from the Alistair Knox park side (football oval) due to engineering works at the station.

ZONE VENTURER COUNCIL – Monday 18 February 2013

The next Zone meeting is on Monday 18th February @ 7.30pm at Rosanna Hall, Turnham Ave Rosanna.
We will be discussing the 2013 Zone Goals, Award Scheme Presentations and hearing from those who attended the Qld Jamboree & the NZ Venture.
To start the year with a buzz, I’ve collated key information into the attached February Zone Bulletin that has lots of web links to relevant sites.

As this is a post Jamboree, Units need to be aware to identify those Scouts eligible for linking and get them into the swing of Venturers.

This Week 2013-Feb-19 (Tue) Gaming night (board, card, dice)

Tonight we are having a Gaming night where we will be playing board, card, and dice games generally referred to as ‘tabletop gaming’. Now when we are talking about card and board games, we are not talking about quiet parlor games but games that are a little more noisy such as Munchkin, Zombie Dice, Ticket to Ride, Castle Panic and Monty Python Flux.* (By the way – how good are your Zombie slayer skills?)

Bring along some snacks and settle in for some fun!

We’ll also need to plan for the Asta la vista night (secret Venturer’s business) and pack the trailer ready to go on AG for Friday night.

[Reminder] Register to attend Anything Goes 2013.


Fri. 22 – Sun. 24 FEB 2013 Anything Goes – Venturers at Lardner Park, Drouin
Anything Goes or AG as its known is a yearly activity camp for Venturers held at Lardner Park near Warragul. This year’s AG will be held on 22-24 February 2013. The cost is $65 for Venturers with Leaders and Rovers attend at no cost. Activities include Helicopter Joy Flight, Surfing, Scuba Try Dives, Horse Trail Riding, Laser Tag, High Ropes Course, CAMS Junior Development Program, plus many more on site activities.

If you are planning to attend Anything Goes 2013 jump online and register Now.

Applications close Sunday 17th Feb at Midnight – There are no extensions or registrations on the actual weekend of AG so please get yours complete promptly!

You will also need to complete and submit the Special Activity Permission Form, and the Scuba Diving Permission Forms if you are selecting this activity.

Anything Goes has two different Venturer fees depending on if you wish to undertake major activities or not.

* Venturer: $65 Full package including major activities, camping & onsite activities.
* Venturer: $55 Camping only with basic onsite activities – NO major activities
* Linking Scout: $35 Full package – MUST attend with a Venturer Unit as a linking Scout

* Leaders & Rovers: $0 all leaders and Rovers attending AG are FREE

Other Fees & Charges
* $5 Train Station pickup and/or drop off fee

* General Information, what to bring, and how to get to AG (from 2012 but still mostly valid) things are very similar to VG in terms of what to take, what you cannot bring, and no cars on-site.

* Passout form – if you need to leave AG at all during the weekend, you need to submit this form

Getting To Anything Goes:
You have two options for getting to Lardner Park, either private vehicle or you can catch a Vline train through to Warragul. We can discuss our unit + gear travel plans once we have a clear idea of numbers and who is traveling via the train (Click through for more details)

[NOTICE] Wed. 27-FEB-13 Group BBQ at Alistair Knox Park

The Draper Joey Mob invite the members and their families from all sections (Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers, Rovers) to our annual Family BBQ in the Park.

Wednesday 27th February @ Alistair Knox Park

6pm for a 6:30 start
BBQ at around 7pm
Finish around 8pm

Sausages, bread, sauce and cordial will be provided.
The barbeque will be available if you wish to bring something different to cook.

BYO chair or rug or whatever you wish to sit on but, be prepared, you will be expected to join in the fun.

** Please RSVP to your section leader or to by 23rd February so we have an idea of how many we are catering for.
