Tonight we are having a Gaming night where we will be playing board, card, and dice games generally referred to as ‘tabletop gaming’. Now when we are talking about card and board games, we are not talking about quiet parlor games but games that are a little more noisy such as Munchkin, Zombie Dice, Ticket to Ride, Castle Panic and Flux.* (By the way – how good are your Zombie slayer skills?)

We’ll light up the fire so bring along some snacks and settle in for some fun!

sail

Dear Venturers,

Water fun at Albert Park Lake, 30, 31 Aug 2014 for Scouts, Venturers, Rovers and Leaders. Last Admiral Napier Cup regatta at Albert Park Lake was in 2000. Only held once since. Won by 1st /14th Brighton Sea Scout Group at Sandringham Beach.
Sailing races for dinghies. Iron-person races for Scouts and for Venturers (male and female). Time trials in pull-boats (like life-saving rescue boats), from 1st Ivanhoe and 1st Victorian Sea Scout Groups.
Bring your dinghies, or borrow one. Level of skills needed? Skipper at least, must be experienced to Level 1 OBC. All sections will race against each other, at same on-water start. Hopefully at least five races, depending on the weather. Will also be Iron person races and pull boat time trials.
Entries close on 15 Aug. Donations sought towards costs are $10 for the regatta weekend of activities. Plus camping at $10 per person per weekend for two nights on the Palms Lawn, opposite the 1st Victorian Sea Scout hall, Aquatic Drive.
