[Notice] Program Competition and Programming conferences

Hello

I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of two important things that are happening quite soon.

The Venturer Programming Conferences on 6&7 August.
Have you booked to attend one of the programing conferences? We would love to see all Venturer Leaders and a couple of Venturers from each unit at this great event being run by our State Youth Venturer Council. They have a great day planned for all where we will find out more about brilliant programming ideas for and from Venturers. This day will inspire everyone in the Venturer section, from the oldest leaders to the youngest unit members. It will provide an incredible opportunity to gather knowledge and share experiences in order to build concrete plans for achieving your own Venturing goals, leading up to AV2018 and WSJ2019.

Please book via links below:
❑ Saturday August 6th (8.45am to 4.30pm)- Deakin University Burwood – 221 Burwood Highway https://www.vicscouts.asn.au/scoutEvents/default2.php?ID=SCE00506
❑ Sunday August 7th (8.45am to 4.30pm)- Benalla College – Avon St Campus https://www.vicscouts.asn.au/scoutEvents/default2.php?ID=SCE00510

The Best Venturer Program Competitions.
What unit wouldn’t like to claim bragging rights to having the best program/s and also a great 4 season two man tent? If you think you have good programs then please submit them to syvc@scoutsvictoria.com.au as per the attached flier. Entries Close on 30 July!!

2016-Jul-23 Scouts Flag party : Commemorative Service Battle of the Somme

Somme

Scouts Flag party : Commemorative Service Battle of the Somme
1st Eltham is proving the Flag Party for the Commemorative Service for the centenary of the Battle of the Somme; Fromelles, Pozieres & Mouquet Farm to be held at St Margaret’s Anglican Church 79 – 81 Pitt Street, Eltham commencing at 2.00 pm. On Saturday 23 July 2016. All members and their families are cordially invited to attend this commemorative service.

All participants to be in full scout uniform and to arrive at the church by 1.00pm for a 2pm start.

A change to the timing!

For those involved in the flag ceremony, instead of arriving at 1:30pm it would very much appreciated if you could arrive at the church at 1:00pm as there will be a practice on flag etiquette for about 15 to 20 min before the service.

St Margaret’s Church is at 79-81 Pitt Street opposite the Eltham Pub Car Park – the entrance to the church is through the church car park and there is a foyer. Ask for Gary.
