Vocations (Venturer Award Level)
Encourage investigation of some aspects of employment opportunities enabling Venturer Scouts to better understand the roles and responsibilities in a range of vocations.

1. Prepare a personal resume to present to, and discuss with, at least two employers. Where possible, one employer should be from a major business and the other a small local business. The resume should include a covering letter which would be relevant should a written application be required. A request should be made to the interviewer to do a short report on the presentation of the interview held. This report to be brought back and discussed at Unit level.

We will be making cover letters and resume’s with assistance from those who have done them before, so bring down a laptop to work on or bring pens and paper to draft one out.
The CV’s and applications written tonight will be used for Vocations #2 – The Interview

There are four jobs that you will get to choose two to apply for;

Exp.​ in sandwich making, coffee making essential.​ Eltham area. Between 20 -30 hrs per week.
Previous applicants need not apply;​ Ph Akela after 3pm

Our client will be requiring labourers for work in the Melbourne area.
Must be available for a interview in our Eltham office.
Must be Physically fit. Experience in Power tools would be preferable but not essential. Early starts (6am)
Must be reliable. References.

JOB 3: Apprenticeship (pick the trade)
We are looking for a 1st year apprentice to join our team.
Must be reliable, hardworking & able to work in a team environment.​
Experience and skills required:
• positive attitude and willing to learn
• able to work at a fast pace
• able to work at heights
• able to follow instructions and direction to the letter
Will need white card and be able to work Saturdays.

JOB 4: Call centre/Help centre or receptionist (major business)
A brilliant opportunity has opened up for a Customer Consultant based in Kangaroo Ground
Here’s what you will be doing:
You will be responsible for general office duties with a customer based focus.
Duties will include:
• Answering phone inquiries
• Dealing with bookings
• Cash handling
• Face to face contact
• Meet and greet customers
• Data entry
Experience and skills required:
• Proven track record of excellent customer service
• Excellent communication and listening skills
What you need for success:
Our client is looking for someone who has a friendly, confident and bubbly attitude. They will also have a good phone manner and excellent customer service skills.
