恭喜发财 Gōngxǐ fācái : Shrove Tuesday collides with Chinese New Year

Shrove Tuesday 🥞
Shrove Tuesday was Tuesday 13th February 2018. Shrove Tuesday, otherwise known as Pancake Day, is traditionally a feasting day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. Shrove Tuesday always falls exactly 47 days before Easter – with this date changing every year.

Celebrating the year of the Dog 🐶
Chinese New Year, also known as Spring Festival in China, is the most important traditional holiday in China. Chinese New Year 2018 is on Friday, January 16th, and welcoms the year of the Dog which is the eleventh in the 12-year cycle of Chinese zodiac sign.

What happens when Shrove Tuesday collides with Chinese New Year? You’ll need to come along to find out … I’d expect to see pancakes and dragons.
