We are going to have members of unit council delegated to have there ‘area’ organised eg. equipment, term fees. After this we are going to have a relaxing rest of the night were we will sit around a fire and have yummy damper. Don’t forget to bring toppings and other eatable ingredients to make your damper taste the best.

Bring money for food, we are out of the hall to change it up a bit.

Venturer Units are run by a group of elected youth members who along with the Venturer Leaders form the Unit Council. Ideally the Unit Council meets once a month and Unit Council positions are elected every 12 months.

The Unit Council members are: Unit Chairman, Deputy Unit Chairman, Unit Secretary, Unit Treasurer, Unit Equipment Officer (Quartermaster) and Unit Log Book Officer.

Vocations (Venturer Award Level)

Encourage investigation of some aspects of employment opportunities enabling Venturer Scouts to better understand the roles and responsibilities in a range of vocations.

Pick TWO (2) of the job advertisements listed below, prepare job applications and resumes that suit the positions. The resume should include a relevant covering letter.

Bring along or send the applications (Cover Letter and Resume) the pervious Tuesday (5th) to any of the leaders or Justine. Be prepare on the night for the interview including suitable clothing attire.

MEET: at the hall at 7:30 pm

JOB 1: CAFE ASSISTANT – ALL ROUNDER

Exp.​ in sandwich making, coffee making essential.​ Eltham area. Between 20 -30 hrs per week.

Previous applicants need not apply;​ Ph Akela after 3pm

JOB 2: LABOURER

Our client will be requiring labourers for work in the Melbourne area.

Must be available for a interview in our Eltham office.

Must be Physically fit. Experience in Power tools would be preferable but not essential. Early starts (6am)

Must be reliable. References.

JOB 3: Apprenticeship (pick the trade)

We are looking for a 1st year apprentice to join our team.

Must be reliable, hardworking & able to work in a team environment.​

Experience and skills required:

• positive attitude and willing to learn

• able to work at a fast pace

• able to work at heights

• able to follow instructions and direction to the letter

Will need white card and be able to work Saturdays.

JOB 4: Call centre/Help centre or receptionist (major business)

Here’s what you will be doing:

You will be responsible for general office duties with a customer based focus.

Duties will include:

• Answering phone inquiries

• Dealing with bookings

• Cash handling

• Face to face contact

• Meet and greet customers

• Data entry

Experience and skills required:

• Proven track record of excellent customer service

• Excellent communication and listening skills

What you need for success:

Our client is looking for someone who has a friendly, confident and bubbly attitude. They will also have a good phone manner and excellent customer service skills.
