The Yarra Batman Zone Venturer Council, Banyule Scout District and Victorian Branch Venturer Council invite you to join a Scout-Community Visit to the Elsedeaq Mosque in West Heidelberg on Sunday, 26th August 2018, from 2.45 (sharp) to 4.15pm. Join the tour of the mosque, observe afternoon prayers and participate actively in a Q&A session for young adults, hosted by the Board of Management and the new Imam at the Elsedeaq Mosque in West Heidelberg.
Members of community groups & organisations are welcome to join and support Venturer Scouts during this visit.
Scouts & Guides may be able to include this visit in progress towards an award. Uniform is not required. (Venturers: bring your Venturer Record Book to be signed.)

[NOTICE] 2017-Mar-11 (Sat.) Ideals Visit – Leo Baeck Centre

The Leo Baeck Centre (LBC) welcomes visitors each year to its annual Civic Service, held during the Kew community festival, KewFest. The next Civic Service is held on Saturday morning, 11th March 2017. This Service celebrates the Sabbath (Saturday) and LBC’s place in the local community. The Service begins at 10 am and is conducted in Hebrew and English. The Service is followed by refreshments (Kiddush), a tour of the synagogue and a Q&A session. Venturers, Rovers and Leaders are invited to attend a special night at Temple Beth Israel. Learn about the Jewish religion and beliefs in an informal setting. Please arrive by 7.30pm for a 7.45pm start. Please wear full uniform. A great opportunity to go behind the scenes of a working synagogue and see its artifacts and talk to some people knowledgeable in the Jewish faith.

Venturers: remember to bring your Venturer Record Book to be signed.
Uniform should be worn as well as a hat. If you don’t have a hat you can borrow one when you arrive.

The Yarra Batman Zone Venturer Council, Banyule Scout District, and the Victorian State Venturer Council invite you to attend a Scout-Community Visit to the Baha’is of Banyule ’s celebration of the Declaration of the Báb on Sunday evening, 22nd May, 7:30 pm, Bundoora Hall, 20 Noorong Avenue, Bundoora.

Ali-Muhammad, known as The Báb (“gate” or “door” in Arabic, pronounced “bob”), was the forerunner of Baha’u’llah, the Founder of the Baha’i Faith. May 22nd marks the beginning of the Baha’i Era in 1844 and is celebrated every year by Baha’i communities around the world.

Through an exploration of moral, social and religious customs and teachings to encourage Venturer Scouts to find out about themselves, better understand their relationships with other people, and to discover for themselves what is involved in their acceptance of the Promise and Law.
1. Participate in the detailed research, planning and delivery of a formal Unit debate on a topic that examines common beliefs or values.
5. Through active participation in a course of reading and discussion, develop an understanding of personal values and moral behaviour and how they can be related to the Scout Promise.
6. Other ideals activities determined by the Unit Council to be of equivalent standard as those listed above.
