UNIT PROGRAMMING

PLAN > DO > REVIEW
Resources for the yearly overview program, and the quarterly/term programs is published as we go into our planning session.
These posts contain a heap of details on how the Venturer programming process works, and what elements we need in a Scout program – you should read them and check the linked resources.

❝ Adults and other Scouts should be wary of making assumptions or setting low expectations about what Scouts can or can’t, should or shouldn’t, do. Whilst there are some activities or tasks that some individuals are unable to do, or require additional support in order to complete, there are also many things that Scouts can learn if they set themselves a goal and are supported by their peers and adults to achieve. All Scouts should be encouraged to ‘do their best’ and strive to achieve new goals, as well as celebrating when they have achieved their past goals. ❞

WEEKLY PROGRAMMING

If you are the LEAD or the ASSIST for an activity on the program, you need to produce a program for the activity. You are also responsible to make sure all bookings, equipment organisation, and sheep wrangling involved in running the program is occurring – work with the Unit, the Unit Council, the Unit Leaders and others to achieve the goals.
Contact the Unit Council for help with the program as required.

6P’s: Prior Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance.

For a standard week night meeting you can use the Weekly Program – 1st Eltham Venturer Unit template as this helps to format a program and required resources.
WeeklyProgramTemplate

Send your draft program to 1st.eltham.venturers@gmail.com two (2) weeks before the program is due to run, or post to the UiC Facebook page. If a program is NOT supplied for the Unit Council & Leaders it cannot be risk assessed and may be cancelled and replaced with another program (or the night cancelled completely).

Hey everyone, I hope everyone one is staying safe and doing well.
For Wednesday nights Chinese New Year night Martina and I were thinking that it would be nice to do more of a catch-up social night, while still doing some fun activities. Like colouring and face painting. That way we can catch up and talk about our holidays and stuff. If you would like bring some snacks or drinks.
